Biography
Amanda is responsible for advising part-time MBA students on everything from enrollment and academic planning (ask her about the “totem pole of priorities”) to degree requirements and student life. She also oversees summer electives, partnership programs, certificate offerings and the Class Visit and Alumni Auditing opportunities. She built a student leadership program for incoming MBA students and, more recently, established a Community of Practice for student-facing staff across 4 Master's degree programs to provide opportunities for colleagues to come together, share and learn best practices and build community. Her service to the UC Berkeley campus includes roles on the Student Conduct Committee, Graduate Student Affairs Officers Coordinating Committee and Berkeley Staff Assembly Governing Council. She recently received the UC Berkeley Outstanding Advisor Award and the Haas Outstanding Staff Award for her embodiment of the Defining Leadership Principle, "Question the Status Quo". Amanda grew up in the East Bay. She is a proud double Bear — English as an undergrad and Global Studies for her Master’s degree. Her focus was on education and public policy in Latin America. Her thesis centered on globalization in Latin America and how behavioral science interventions can be leveraged to provide public policy solutions. Go Bears!
